Catherine Lockner (Church) is an artist and educator based in South Lake Tahoe, working primarily in watercolor, oil, and ceramics. Her studio practice centers on intimate portraiture, gesture, and narrative, alongside recent explorations in murals and clay. Catherine’s work has been exhibited regionally and nationally, including a sold-out solo exhibition at California Burger and multiple public mural commissions across California and Florida. She is also a contributing illustrator for JackFish Publishing and other independent authors.

Catherine has taught in the Art Department at Lake Tahoe Community College since 2013, offering courses in ceramics, watercolor, drawing, oil painting, and Art History in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and correspondence modalities. She currently serves as Co-Coordinator of the Haldan Gallery, Purple Meta Major Lead for the Arts, Languages & Humanities, and Academic Senate Representative. Her teaching and leadership emphasize accessible curriculum, integrative studio and art-historical learning, and community-centered creative practice.

She continues to balance an active studio practice with ongoing teaching, gallery work, and creative community engagement in the Tahoe region.
